Good Things Come in Small Packages: A Yoga tour through Portugal and Seville, Spain

with Baxter Bell, MD and Melina Meza

This 12 day tour begins in Porto, Portugal. We will travel up the coast, go inland to the Duoro Region then head south to the stunning Algarve and end our trip in Seville, Spain. Each day is an adventure as we immerse ourselves in the culture, art, food and sites of Portugal and Seville. Baxter and Melina will lead us in daily gentle yoga sessions and there will be opportunities to take varied and interesting walks along the Camino, the Way of Saint James.  

  Itinerary


Day 1, Sept. 25  Arrive to Porto, Portugal and overnight.


Day 2, Sept. 26  Private transfer  to Vila Praia de Ancora, visit the north coast , optional walk along the Camino (the  Way of Saint James) and lunch in Caminha. Overnight Vila Nova del Cerveira


Day 3, Sept. 27  Visit Termas de Melgaco (a mineral hot springs), Fortress of Valenca do Minho and enjoy a gourmet lunch with one of the  best wine producers. Overnight Vila Nova del Cerveira


Day 4, Sept. 28  Visit Guimaraes and Duoro wine region. Overnight  Varzea de Abrunhais


Day 5, Sept. 29  Guided walking tour of Valenca do Duoro and Lamego, visit the Port wine producer Quinta de Seixo for a picnic on the grounds. Overnight in Varzea de Abrunhais


Day 6, Sept. 30  Train from Regua through the magnificent Duoro Valley to Pocinho, Visit Ramos Pinto's Quinta de Ervamoira. Overnight  in Longroiva


Day 7, Oct. 1  Private transfer to Lisbon, lunch in Praca do Comercio and walking tour of city. Overnight Tivoli Avenida.


Day 8, Oct. 2  Visit Sintra, Palacio de Pena, Cascais and Estori, lunch in Guincho . Overnight Tivoli Avenida


Day 9, Oct. 3  Private transfer to Algarve, walking tour of the southwest coast and a visit to Sagres. Overnight in Algarve (featured in recent Vogue article here) at the Onyria Palmares Beach House.


Day 10, Oct. 4  Cultural visit to Lagos and Silves, Boat tour to Benagil Caves and afternoon wine tasting. Overnight Onyria Palmares Beach House.


Day 11, Oct 5  Depart the Algarve for transfer to Seville, Spain. Tour and overnight of Seville. 


Day 12, Oct. 6  Transfer to Seville Airport for departure.


Baxter Bell, MD, 500-ERYT teaches classes, workshops, and retreats internationally, Baxter is a presenter at Yoga Journal Conferences and the International Association of Yoga Therapy’s Sytar Conference, and teaches online courses and classes at Yoga U Online. Baxter is also the co-founder and writer for the popular Yoga for Healthy Aging blog, where he shares his knowledge of medical conditions, anatomy, and yoga with practitioners and teachers across the world. He has written articles for Yoga Journal and the journal of the International Association of Yoga Therapy. Melina Meza, 500-ERYT, has been sharing her knowledge of Hatha Yoga, Ayurveda, and whole foods nutrition with yogis around the world for over 20 years. Melina pioneered Seasonal Vinyasa, an innovative multi-disciplined approach to well-being, and is the author of the Art of Sequencing books and the creator of the Yoga for the Seasons – Fall Vinyasa DVD.Since 1997, Melina has been teaching yoga at 8 Limbs Yoga Centers in Seattle, Washington, where she also is Co-Director of their 200- and 500-Hour Teachers’ Training Program. Melina holds a bachelor’s degree in nutrition from Bastyr University and is a certified Ayurvedic Health Educator from the California College of Ayurveda.Learn more about Melina: www.melinameza.com

To Register:

A $700 non-refundable deposit will hold your space on the tour. The deposit can be paid by check (mailed to Schleicher, PO Box 73, Helena, MT 59624) or credit card. The balance is due 90 days before the start of the tour  (June 26, 2018). Upon registration an initial letter with further trip details will be sent. Final payment amount to be paid by check or +3% with a credit card. Thank you
